Procedure:
In accordance with Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Act 1969 (as amended)following the referral of the dispute to me by the Director General, I inquired into the dispute and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any information relevant to the dispute.
Although the Complainant attended the remote hearing on 9 March 2023, she had not properly particularised the dispute or provided any written submission in advance of the hearing. Accordingly, I decided to adjourn the matter, with the consent of the Respondent, and requested that details of the dispute be provided in advance of the next hearing to allow the Respondent to prepare a defence.
No further particulars in relation to the dispute were received from the Complainant after the remote hearing. Although a face-to-face hearing was convened for 15 September 2023, the Complainant did not attend and did not seek a postponement in advance.
Background:
The Worker was employed as a post office teller in the Employer’s shop from 1 November 2021 to 11 March 2022. In her complaint form, she stated that she was subjected to bullying in the workplace. |
