Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Breiffni O'Neill
Procedure:
In accordance with Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 - 2014following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Although I am satisfied that both the Complainant and the Respondent were on notice of the hearing, neither party attended on the day.
Background:
The Complainant stated on his complaint form that he had not received a redundancy payment further to the closure of the shop where he worked on 24 June 2022. |
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
The Complainant did not attend the hearing to give evidence in relation to his complaint. |
Summary of Respondent’s Case:
The Respondent did not attend the hearing to give evidence. |
Findings and Conclusions:
As the Complainant did not attend the hearing to give evidence in relation to his complaint, I do not allow his appeal. |
Decision:
Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 – 2012 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under that Act.
I do not allow the appeal for the reasons set out above. |
