Procedure:
In accordance with Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 - 2015,following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Although I am satisfied that he was on notice of the hearing, the Complainant was not in attendance on the day.
Background:
The Complainant stated in his complaint form that he commenced employment on the 2 May 2023 as a Travel and Medical FNOL agent with the Respondent. He stated that he was discriminated against by the Respondent because they treated him less favourably due to his religion, race and that he is a member of the travelling community. |
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
As the Complainant was not in attendance on the day of the hearing, no evidence was presented by him. |

Findings and Conclusions:
As the Complainant was not in attendance on the day of the hearing, I find that he failed to establish a prima facie case of discrimination. |
Decision:
Section 79 of the Employment Equality Acts, 1998 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 82 of the Act.
As he failed to establish a prima facie case of discrimination, I find that the Complainant was not discriminated against. |
