COVID-19 Update – 20 October 2020

Mindful of the most recent Government announcement, the WRC has postponed all in-person Adjudication Hearings, Conciliation Meetings, and Mediations for a period of six weeks with effect from midnight on 21 October 2020. Parties will be offered a virtual service, in so far as is possible, on the same dates where such in-person services had been scheduled.

In terms of adjudication hearings, remote hearings will be offered pursuant to section 31 Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020. Should an issue be raised in relation to fair procedure during the course of a virtual hearing the Adjudication Officer will take whatever steps they deem necessary, including adjourning to a physical hearing at a later date.   

Please note that virtual services already scheduled are unaffected as are WRC inspections and the WRC Infoline: 0818 80 80 90

Administrative arrangements are in place so that physical post and documentation will be processed daily in WRC locations.

However, we would also encourage people to utilise electronic mail as a communication vehicle wherever possible to assist in general administration efficiencies.  The email address is submissions@workplacerelations.ie
