Employers - what you need for inspections

You will by now have received an appointment letter from a WRC Inspector giving a date and time for the inspection together with information on the records that should be made available to the Inspector.

Visit Inspection Services for more details on the duties and responsibilities of inspectors, the reasons for, and the steps performed both during and after inspections.

You might also refer to our Employers guide to inspections.

The appointment letter refers to an Employee Details Form which you are asked to complete in advance of, and make available at, the inspection. A hardcopy of the Form is included with the appointment letter. However, electronic versions of the Form, in both Word and Excel, can be downloaded as follows:-

WRC Employee details form for inspection (Excel version)

WRC Employee details form for inspection (Word version)

The Inspector would be happy to receive the completed Employee Details Form in advance of the inspection. If you are happy to do so, please contact the Inspector and request a ShareFile link to allow you to securely upload the completed Form. Otherwise, please have the completed Form available on the day of the inspection.

FORM OF AUTHORITY

If you wish to appoint someone to act as a representative on your behalf, please complete this Authorisation Form and return it to the inspector.

RECORD OF PAYMENT OF UNPAID WAGES

If you have received a request from an inspector for payment of unpaid wages to an employee, you can use this Unpaid Wages Form as proof of payment.
